Disappointment At Xenotransplantation Turn-down
Diabetes Youth New Zealand is deeply disappointed that Professor Bob Elliott’s application to continue xenotransplantation trials in New Zealand has been turned down by the Ministry of Health.
Diabetes Youth has always supported Professor Elliott’s work.
His team is now conducting trials overseas, and these represent a real ray of hope for young people with diabetes in the future.
Professor Elliott is a world pioneer in this area. His work represents a major opportunity for New Zealand that we don’t want to see lost to this country.
