CommSoft Appoints Mark Godfrey CFO

Multi-country Experience to Drive CommSoft’s Operational Focus

Auckland, 6 August 2001 – CommSoft Group Limited (ASX/NZSE: CSG) today announced that it has appointed Mark Godfrey as its Chief Financial Officer.

Mark will be responsible for all CommSoft’s financial and accounting functions across the company’s operations in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Australia and South Africa. He will be based in CommSoft’s Auckland headquarters and will report to Group Managing Director Mark Lunt.

“Mark has precisely the type of rounded background that CommSoft needs,” says Mark Lunt. “He has corporate financial experience in a listed company and management and financial experience in an international organisation. He also has in-depth audit and tax experience with the top accounting firms here and in the UK. ”

“Our company requires skilled leadership to manage its regrouping and growth. With Mark’s appointment the final piece in the new management structure, we believe that CommSoft has in place a management team with solid depth of commercial experience.”

“CommSoft has made significant progress in addressing its commercial opportunities over the last quarter,” says Mark Godfrey. “I’m looking forward to being involved with a company which is so clearly poised for growth.”

“Mark is a tenacious operator with enviable technical accounting, systems, tax and business skills,” adds Mark Lunt. “He has excellent negotiation abilities and considerable experience in motivating and managing staff teams. We believe his business experience in the UK, a major market for CommSoft, is a real asset for our company. Mark is also very comfortable dealing with the challenges of managing a business that operates in several off shore markets with their differing tax, accounting and commercial environments.”

Mark Godfrey’s previous position was as CFO with listed Australasian transportation company Owens Group. Prior to this he worked in auditing and management positions in Coppers and Lybrand and Deloittes. Born and educated in the UK, Mark holds a BSc and is a qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

He will take up his new role at the end of September.

Mark Godfrey succeeds Gregor Duncan, who saw the company through its trans-Tasman listing process and subsequent changes in senior management.
