Top Oracle Exec Joins Internet World Line-Up

** More than 65 speakers presenting at Aotea Centre from 9-11 October **

AUCKLAND - The largest e-business conference & exhibition to be launched in New Zealand - Internet World - is today announcing that it is adding the world's largest e-business software provider to its keynote executive line-up.

Oracle's Derek Williams, the executive vice president responsible for overseeing the company's operations in 28 Asia Pacific countries, will demonstrate how New Zealand organisations can free themselves from the complexity and clutter of everyday business operations by using the internet to operate more efficiently and develop new business opportunities.

Mr Williams will present a keynote presentation on the third day of the conference (11 Oct) at 2pm.

He joins five other confirmed keynote speakers, including Hon Paul Swain (Minister of IT, Commerce & Communications), Ewan Sutherland (International Telecommunications Users Group), Ross Pfeffer (Southern Cross Cable Network), Danni Ashe (Danni's Hard Drive) and Craig Settles (Successful.com).

"Derek Williams is a world expert in e-business," says Philip Alexander, Chief Operating Officer for Penton Media Australia, the organisation responsible for bringing the first Internet World to New Zealand. "He complements the exceptional line-up of international speakers sharing business lessons at the three-day conference."

"Everything needed to translate e-business strategies into profitable business models will be fully represented, from technology and implementation, to marketing and planning for future growth."

TUANZ's Ernie Newman agrees, emphasising that the wide variety of participating industries and companies means that there will be something for everybody involved with New Zealand's business community.

"Business and technology issues relevant to New Zealand companies of all sizes and across all sectors will be reviewed," says Mr Newman. "The special forums running on the third day focus on really hot topics in this country, from how to do e-business in the rural sector to overcoming the challenges facing SMEs."

Day-long sessions on e-business for SMEs, e-government, e-farming, online travel and web marketing sessions will be presented on the final day of the conference.

About two thirds of the 65-plus speakers will be from New Zealand companies or will be New Zealanders employed with successful overseas businesses.

Mr Alexander adds that the price of the inaugural conference is fantastic value for money.

"Internet World is also very affordable," he says, pointing out that those who register prior to 10 September (and use the online registration form) can attend the conference for as little as $275 per day - and that's including GST.

Held in association with TUANZ (Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand), Internet World runs from 9-11 October at Auckland's Aotea Centre.

Penton Media, a leading business-to-business media company based in the United States, hosts the global Internet World conference in 28 different countries every year, including North and South America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Australia. The conference and exhibition has served the e-business market for more than seven years and attracts more than half a million people every year, a testament to its growing momentum around the world.
