Cadmus Signs Second Malaysian Distributor

Cadmus Signs Second Malaysian Distributor

Cadmus Technology Limited (NZSE: CTL) has secured an agreement to supply an initial 1,000 units of a new Cadmus EFTPOS pinpad and printer to a new Malaysian distributor, eScience Systems Malaysia.

The agreement, worth approximately NZ$700,000, will see Cadmus supply eScience Systems with its new Cadmus CP02 SCR pinpads, which will be fitted with EMV (Europay, Mastercard, Visa) capability. It is conditional on the completion of certification to the new Malaysian Electronic Purse Systems (MEPS) standard. The agreement, Cadmus’ third large international order into the Malaysian market to date, also marks the appointment of a second dealer channel into Malaysia.

“We are delighted to win this additional order to export our New Zealand-developed terminals into Malaysia,” says Pat McCammon, Cadmus’ General Manager of International Sales and Marketing.

“Cadmus currently has achieved bank certification for its payment terminals in Malaysia with four banks as well as Diners Club. Importantly, the agreement enables our company to capture a greater share of the Malaysian merchant and bank market, which is estimated to be similar in size to the total New Zealand market with approximately 15,000 units being installed per annum.”

The CP02 SCR pinpads are highly secure PIN entry device designed to interconnect to the Cadmus range of payment terminals. The pinpad is also EMV compliant and enabled to meet the needs of the new generation of smart card products being promoted by banks world-wide.

The order will be delivered to eScience Systems Malaysia over the next 12 months and further orders are expected as the rollout occurs.
