iSERVE Lends hand to sanction struck .nz providers

In an effort to help .nz providers who will have their domain registration services put on hold due to the Domainz Sanction that comes into effect from the 16th - 18th July, iSERVE are lending a helping hand.

"We have been talking to a lot of .nz providers, who have been concerned about the effect the Domainz Sanction will have on their business, and have made arrangements for them to continue registering domain names through us temporarily without the need to go through the Domainz system." Says Business Development Manager Joy Cottle, “We have been surprised at the amount of providers feeling the need to look elsewhere for their wholesale domain name needs.”

iSERVE says that it really has little to gain by helping the .nz providers continue their registrations services throughout the Domainz Sanction, “The important thing is that the .nz providers are not disadvantaged by such action, any continuation of business we pick up as a result of helping those providers who are not moving to us on a permanent basis is an added bonus.” Says Company Director Mark Shingleton.

The Domain Name Commissioner (DNC) Debbie Monahan, announced on the 6th June 2003 that Domainz Ltd would be the subject of a sanction. The sanction imposed upon Domainz means that for a single and continuous period of 48 Domainz will be unable to accept new registrations or transfers.

However Domainz will be able to continue to manage and renew their existing names.
