Teradata and DecisionPoint® Software to Deliver Financial Performance Management Solutions Worldwide

AUCKLAND, New Zealand – Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), and DecisionPoint® Software, a provider of financial performance management software, today announced an alliance to deliver world-class finance analytics to global enterprises.

Under this global alliance, the DecisionPoint solution has been integrated with Teradata’s data warehouse and high-performance database technology. This joint solution – currently being implemented at a major marquee retailer – will enable companies to report, monitor and analyse the financial results of operational activities from across the enterprise.

DecisionPoint’s combination of intelligent sourcing from enterprise resource planning and related systems, pre-built, finance-centric data models and integrated analytic environment will also help companies quickly maximise the business value from existing or planned Teradata Warehouses.

“More than ever before, financial transparency is critical for long-term organisational survival. Integrating financial data with customer and operational data allows companies to analyse the underlying operational drivers of financial results, giving business owners actionable information,” said Julian Beavis, Teradata vice president for India, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. “The DecisionPoint and Teradata solution pulls financial data into the data warehouse in near real time, enabling faster and more comprehensive analysis to ensure financial compliance, improved decision-making and reduced risk.

“We are extremely pleased to have our software integrated with Teradata, the industry’s leading data warehouse provider,” said Bart Foster, president of DecisionPoint Software. “This alliance will benefit the marketplace by providing a joint solution that can seamlessly improve access and control over enterprise financial information and automate financial processes in even the most complex organisations.”

“At a time when most business intelligence and analytics vendors are focused on expanding their positioning and offerings into the wider business performance management market, there is still a requirement to focus on core finance-centric analytics that every company needs, although they may not know it yet, as many are in the midst of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404,” said John Van Decker, vice president, META Group. “The emerging applications space – financial performance management – coupled with a strong underlying data warehouse platform should be leveraged to enable this analysis to ensure performance and optimise compliance initiatives, including compliance-focused dashboards.”

The integration of DecisionPoint technology and the Teradata data warehouse is complete and generally available for purchase from today (May 19, 2004).
