Another motorsport ace joins the environmental race
Energywise Rally 2004 is attracting a number of competitors who’ve made their name on the international and local motor racing circuits and rally stages. Latest to join the battle to see who can tune their driving style to a very different discipline is rallying ace Marty Roestenburg.
Recently winning his eighth Rotorua Rally, Roestenburg holds the New Zealand Motorsport record for winning a single rally event the greatest number of times. A past winner of the New Zealand Rally Championship, the Ashley Forest Rallysprint and numerous hillclimb events up and down the country, Roestenburg finished an excellent third overall in this year’s Silverstone Race to the Sky, against formidable international competition.
In keeping with his alligience to his successful rally car, Roestenburg will be sharing a two-litre Mitsubishi Lancer in the EnergyWise event with Lloyd Robinson, Manager, Technical Services for Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand.
The event takes a challenging route from Auckland to Wellington and back and is designed to demonstrate the low fuel consumption of today’s new cars at normal highway speeds. It runs from 2 to 5 November. Find out more at www.energywiserally.org.nz
