Full House At ES Connectivity 05 Technology Expo

Press release, 6-September-05, ES Connectivity Trade Show, Christchurch: Visitors to ES Connectivity can look forward to a full complement of next generation technology displays and guest speakers at the ES Connectivity Trade Show, New Zealand's only dedicated electronics expo at the Christchurch Convention Centre from 30 September - 1 October 2005.

ES Connectivity 05 will display some of the most advanced technologies and services created in New Zealand, as well as a range of demonstrations of powerful next generation technology that includes the world's first combined robotics, electronics and Macromedia Flash conference. The aim of this two day exhibition is to facilitate opportunities for networking, innovation, trade partnerships and employment.

Exhibitors include industry stalwarts Allied Telesyn and Tyco Electronics, niche companies like ADX Electronics, and support organisations such as the Nqb8r Charitable Trust and the Christchurch Polytechnic.

"If you're serious about being in the industry you have to be visible and that's why we're exhibiting," says Martin Morrissey, Development Manager at Tyco Electronics.

The first day of the expo, September 30, is open to trade delegates, government, investors and industry associations. Opening day guest speakers have a strong focus on the Next Generation: discussion topics include Next Generation Mobile Phone Applications, and Next Generation Internet.

"These talks are designed to keep delegates and exhibitors in tune with cutting edge application of new technology," said Saruchera.

On Day Two, the doors open to the public. The show holds appeal for students, teachers, employees and anyone interested in finding out more about some of the amazing technologies being developed in New Zealand. Industry members will be interested in the talks addressing specific challenges in today's marketplace, including China, lead-free, and user centred design.

The 700 guests expected to turn out for this year's event are likely to include potential international trading partners, technologists and engineers, media, investors, students academic staff, and government representatives.

The trade show's major sponsors are Canterbury Development Corporation, New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, and Industry Capability Network, with additional sponsorship from Macromedia and UK Trade and Investment.

30 September: 8.00am - 5.00pm

1 October: 9.00am - 2.00pm
