Media Statement
28 March 2006

Realenz Appoints Chief Executive

RealENZ, New Zealand’s most popular property search website by number of listings, has appointed Alistair Helm to the newly created position of Chief Executive.

Mr Helm will have responsibility for all facets of the operation of RealENZ and will bring a focus to the development and marketing of the website.

Jeff Davidson, Chairman of RealENZ, believes Mr Helm’s mix of expertise in technology and marketing will be perfect for the new role.

“Alistair has had a breadth of experience in strategy development and a proven track record in delivering complex projects that will be invaluable for RealENZ. The Board of RealENZ determined that a Chief Executive would be vital in implementing plans to drive the growth of the website and we believe Alistair’s skill set will be perfect for the role.”

Mr Helm was attracted by the challenges and opportunities that exist online in the real estate market.

“The online medium has become increasingly important for people buying and selling homes, and for real estate agents. RealENZ has three to four times more listings than any other property search website in New Zealand, but the challenge is to deliver those listings in a compelling manner to the public.”

Most recently Mr Helm has been working as a freelance consultant on a number of projects. Prior to this he was Manager Strategic Sourcing – IS at Fonterra, and Executive Director, Investment Auckland. Mr Helm has also held a number of sales and marketing related positions in FMCG companies in continental Europe and his native England. Mr Helm also holds a REINZ Salesperson Certificate.
