New Zealand at the World Summit Award 2007
Wellington June 14 2007
The World Summit Award (WSA) is a global initiative to select and promote the world’s best e-Content, started in 2003 in the framework of the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). See www.wsa-awards.org.nz/ for the NZ site and www.wsis-award.org for the global site.
New Zealand will have entries in all 8 categories of the 2007 World Summit Award.
This years Awards will be held in Venice in November.
The successful entrants will have prolonged global visibility & the opportunity to be part of a major ‘new ideas’ showcase in 2008 in Wellington.
The three judges for the New Zealand WSA
entries are:
Jan Bieringa, Janet Mazenier & Peter
Macaulay
Peter states “We are looking for submissions now. We will not duplicate any of the excellent New Zealand based awards already in place. We will work with the organisers of the other competitions to select those entries that are the best fit for the categories in the WSA.
We then judge which of those will be submitted to the Global Awards. Our aim is to get the best possible entries without the entrants having to repeat the hard work that they put into entering other New Zealand competitions. We wish to encourage entries from all sectors including projects from the The NZ Digital Strategy Community Partnership Fund.”
The beauty of the WSA is the opportunity to take the best from NZ into an international arena.
The categories for
the WSA
are
e-Business
e-Culture
e-Entertainment
e-Government
e-Health
e-Inclusion
e-Learning
e-Science
