banking brands attacked by phishing
It also follows the story of RSA analysts who track a US college athlete whose website was hacked.
All this information is gathered from the RSA anti-fraud command center (AFCC) which is a 24x7 ‘war room’ that detects, monitors, tracks and shuts down phishing, pharming and Trojan attacks against more than 200 companies worldwide. They have shut down over 42,000 phishing attacks and is a key industry source.

Overall, the worldwide distribution of
attacked entities remained relatively nunchanged during
June, July and August. The share of U.S. brands continues to
be very dominant, and August was the seventh consecutive
month in which UK institutions occupied the second spot in
the rankings, with 11% of the phished entities. As in July,
the top five positions in the list remained unchanged.
Australia and Colombia – which were new to the list in
July – kept their spots, while Peru (the only newcomer
this month) edged France out of the list and has taken the
number 10 spot.
