$1.5Bn Broadband Proposal A Good Start
Tuesday 22 April 2008
The announcement today from National Party Leader John Key shows that the message about our poor Broadband Status to Central Government is being taken very seriously.
The $1.5Bn funding proposal for High Speed Broadband resonates well with the Wireless and Broadband Forum who have assisted thought leaders via its members over the past few years.
“Core Broadband infrastructure in other countries got its boost from Governments because it has a measurable positive economic impact. New Zealanders must embrace and encourage any investment in this area”, said Steve Simms, President of the Wireless and Broadband Forum.
