Science Festival Appoints New Associate
Director
Preparation for the seventh New Zealand International Science Festival is now well under way with the recent appointment of an Associate Director, Chris Green.
This year the New Zealand International Science Festival will take place in Dunedin, from 6-11 July, with the theme Everyday Science; food for thought.
Festival Director Sue Clarke said the festival would benefit greatly from the event management skills and experience Chris brings to the role.
Chris Green has an extensive background in marketing and communication roles including previous positions as Marketing Manager of the Otago Rugby Union and the Highlanders and Sales and Marketing Manager of Kapiti Fine Foods Ltd.
Chris believes the festival has potential for further growth. "We want to ensure the festival is the most successful yet and generate great experiences for all who attend; from five-year-old children to the more scientifically minded."
Sue Clarke said Chris brings genuine enthusiasm and a wealth of new ideas to the festival team.
"Already we are looking at events that will be of interest to a wider audience including the "science of beer" and a "healthy eating- healthy action" competition. We want the festival to showcase science as an exciting career option and illustrate its importance to the economic future of New Zealand."
Keynote speakers and events yet to be announced.
