New CEO for NZBIO
April 11, 2012 - NZBIO has a new chief executive. Dr Suzanne Bertrand will take over from Dr Michelle Sullivan, who is stepping down for family reasons.
Dr Bertrand was previously director, international linkages at the Ministry for Science and Innovation. She has a background in academia, industry and government and has experience in the bioscience industry, having managed projects and companies in Canada, China, Tunisia, the United States and New Zealand.
NZBIO Chair Dr Paul Tan says Dr Sullivan has done a superb job running a lean organization, delivering relevant events for members and she recently pulled off a very successful annual conference.
“Michelle’s engaging and cheerful personality will be missed,” Dr Tan says. She has been working with the board to ensure a smooth transition to a new CEO and will remain as caretaker CEO until May 21 when Suzanne takes up the role.”
