Last Chance For Early-Bird Discount To World’s Largest Climate Adaptation Event
Calling all academics, researchers, policy makers, thought leaders, businesses and investors working in the climate sector - there’s less than two weeks left to register for Adaptation Futures 2025 using the early-bird discount.
The flagship event of the United Nations’ World Adaptation Science Programme (WASP), Adaptation Futures 2025 (AF2025) will be co-hosted by WASP and Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury (UC), in a hybrid format allowing people to join in person or online. This year’s event will be held in Ōtautahi Christchurch, New Zealand.
The early-bird discount closes on 15 July 2025. There is also a range of significantly discounted options for students, Indigenous participants, NGO representatives, and people from least developed countries (LDCs) to attend.
Ms Chizuru Aoki, Chairperson of WASP, says AF2025 is happening at a pivotal time in history, one that demands urgent, collective action to address the accelerating impacts of climate change.
“The climate crisis transcends borders, from rising seas threatening island nations to droughts and storms disrupting lives and livelihoods. Its impacts are global, yet our knowledge and experiences on how to adapt to the changing climate are not adequately shared across the world. This makes international collaboration essential,” she says.
“By convening diverse voices and expertise, Adaptation Futures 2025 aims to enable shared learning, co-creation of solutions, and global solidarity grounded in local realities. It will be a space to explore the limits of adaptation, the policy measures needed to build climate resilience, the urgency of just transitions, and the necessity of inclusive action.”
AF2025 is the world’s largest climate adaptation event, bringing together scientists, governments, businesses and leaders. This year’s event, which features more than 200 sessions, has a particular emphasis on issues for the Pacific and Indigenous people. It is supported by a sponsorship consortium of national and international partners, and foundation sponsor, the Adaptation Fund.
