Scores To Settle
The first show of the year (Saturday February 26) at Auckland Boxing Association features an unbeaten rising star taking on a seasoned veteran, and a grudge match to settle an old score.
Feature fight is former national middleweight champion Robbie “The Butcher” Berridge - an unbeaten seven in a row as a pro - against tough journeyman Fale Siaola (6 wins, 20 losses, 1 draw) of South Auckland.
Siaola has never been knocked out in 27 pro fights, and The Butcher from the North Shore wants to be the first man to send Siaola to the canvas.
Monty Feaua of Onehunga takes on Jake Revill of Pakuranga in a professional cruiserweight contest that will be keenly anticipated by fight fans as there is no love lost between the combatants.
Their ill-tempered August bout in Howick was almost called off and the pair definitely have a score to settle.
Feaua - known for taking on tough opponents such as Shane “Choppa” Chapman – is superfit and in good form, thanks to new trainer Joe Ki of Glen Innes.
Two corporate and ten amateur bouts complete the evening’s fight programme.
The Auckland Boxing Association’s first pro-am show of 2011 starts 7pm this Saturday February 26 at its Eden Terrace stadium, 1 Ngahura St.
