Armstrong Motor Group thrilled to continue Festival of Cycling for 2011

Devastating earthquakes and record snow falls cannot stop the enthusiasm and passion that the Armstrong Motor Group have for cycling, and they are thrilled to continue their support for the annual Armstrong Motor Group Festival of cycling with the change of course and location. Traditionally known as the “Harbour Ride”, the Armstrong Motor Group Festival of Cycling has found itself in a different situation this year with the traditional route becoming unstable due to the continued earthquakes, and so has had to find a new home for 2011 to ensure the longevity and safety for the event.

Thankfully, another superb route has been mapped out in the North Canterbury town of Waipara, and Rick Armstrong, Managing Director of the Armstrong Motor Group couldn’t be more pleased. “We are incredibly proud to have been the principal sponsor of this fantastic event for 6 years now, as we have sought to align ourselves with a local event which has the same values and ethos as our group of dealerships. We are a fit and active company and encourage our staff and clients to get out there into our wonderful region to live life to its fullest get and healthy.” Says Armstrong.

“After the tragic earthquakes of earlier this year, we weren’t sure if the Armstrong Motor Group Festival of Cycling would be able to continue due to the safety concerns with the traditional course,” commented Armstrong, “but we have received such positive feedback and support from clients, staff, event organisers and the public that we knew that this event just had to go ahead.”
