We delivered reftel points and supporting documents (the
Treasury Department's press release, the President's most
recent statement on Burma, the White House fact sheet, and
the Department's press release on the visa ban) to Darius
Staniulis, head of the MFA's Human Rights and NGOs Division,
on October 1. He said the GOL, although concerned about the
situation in Burma, has no presence or direct influence in
the region. He added that the GOL will support any EU
efforts to promote democracy in Burma.
