New Zealand rejects trade delegation

The New Zealand government has reportedly declined hospitality to a Fiji trade and investment delegation which was planning to visit NZ.
A trade delegation, organised by the Fiji Trade and Investment Board, was to leave Fiji this month. The FTIB stated that it was merely postponing the trip.
It, however, is understood that the `postponement' is really an indefinite postponement because the NZ Foreign Affairs Minister, Phil Goff has informed Fiji that the delegation will not be accorded the normal hospitality accorded such groups from democratic nations.
New Zealand has continued to take the principled stand that democracy must be restored within the framework of the 1997 Constitution.
