SECRETARY OF DEFENSE ACCEPTS PERLE'S RESIGNATION
Richard Perle has a deep understanding of our national security process and an abiding interest in preserving America's strength and freedom. He has been an excellent chairman and has led the Defense Policy board during an important time in our history.
I have accepted his resignation as chairman of the Defense Policy Board and asked that he remain as a member. I am grateful for his willingness to continue to serve on the Board.
I should add that I have known Richard Perle for many years and know him to be a man of integrity and honor.
