Malaita Outer Islands Constituency Assists Victims
Member of Parliament for Malaita Outer Islands Hon. Patrick Vahoe Jr. and members of his constituency committee presented a cheque of $30,000.00 and some clothing to the National Disaster Council today.
When handing over the cheque to Lottie Yates, director of the National Management Office, Patrick said that the donation was made on behalf of this people in the Malaita Outer Islands constituency.
He said he was pleased that people in his community could assist in this way those who were suffering as the result of the April 2 earthquake-tsunami.
Mr. Yates thanked Hon. Vahoe Jr. and assured him and his community that the money would be used to assist those who have been affected by the disaster.
The donation has been given to assist in the relief operation on Choiseul province.
