Newly Elected PM of the Republic of Vanuatu
Acting Prime Minister Hon Fred Fono has conveyed his warmest congratulations to the newly elected Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu, Hon Edward Natapei upon his sucessful election this week.
“Please accept my best wishes on behalf of our Prime Minister Dr Derek Sikua and the Government and the people of Solomon Islands, to your Government, people of Vanuatu and your good family”, said Mr Fono.
Additionally, Mr Fono also relate to Mr Natapei the many common values that Solomon Islands and Vanuatu share, as well as the existing strong bilateral relations between the two countries.
“Vanuatu and Solomon islands shares common values in governance, culture, people, religion and politics in regional and international scene. Our two countries have built up cooperative and cordial relations over the years”, said Mr Fono.
“With your return to office we hope that our two governments will continue to maintain and enhance our strong cordial relationship. We trust that our two countries will look for opportunities to enhance our relationship under the Melanesian Spearhead Group and other regional and international organizations”, said Mr Fono
“We looking forward to an early opportunity to meet with you soon after you have settle down in office”, said Mr Fono.
