Maori and Pasifika television students of the
School of Communication Studies staged AUT's inaugural
Flavorz09 Film Festival on Friday night.
Presenter
John Utanga, a producer of TVNZ's Tagata Pasifika and chair
of the Pacific Media Centre, was impressed with the standard
of programmes shown.
Winner of the third year category
was Sophie Johnson with The Makings of a Kaitiaki (12min)
and the second year prize went to Karleen Bidois, Ashleigh
McEnaney and Natasha Munton for their 4min programme Ka
Tuituia.
The evening was hosted by the Pacific Media
Centre.
