COHA Congratulates Senior Research Fellow Dr.

The Council on Hemispheric Affairs is proud to congratulate COHA Senior Research Fellow Greg Grandin for the recent recognition by the editors of the New York Times Book Review. On December 6, his nonfiction book, entitled Fordlandia: The Rise and Fall of Henry Ford’s Forgotten Jungle City, was listed among the 100 Most Notable Books of 2009. Dr. Grandin’s book examines Henry Ford’s failed attempt to establish a utopian American society on a rubber plantation in the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest. Grandin, who is a professor of History at NYU, also served as a COHA intern while an undergraduate.
