Visit to Special Air Service Regiment
Visit to Special Air Service Regiment
Today I visited the Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) at Campbell Barracks in Swanbourne, Western Australia.
This was my first official visit to a Defence facility in Western Australia since being sworn in as Minister for Defence on Tuesday 14 September.
I was met by the Commanding Officer SASR who provided an overview of the Regiment and its specialist role.
SASR is currently deployed on a variety of operational commitments, with the focus on operations in Afghanistan.
I also met with SASR personnel, and took the opportunity to thank the Regiment members for their ongoing unique role and operational service.
