APIA (Radio NZ International/Pacific Media Watch): Fiji Television has allowed Samoa’s free-to-air TV One to screen one Super 15 game a week, reports Radio NZ International.
The managing director of TV One, Galumalemana Faiesea Lei Sam-Matafeo, says this is now possible because of a collective effort by the rugby union, government and pressure from the public.
She says she flew to Fiji to explain the big impact on rugby fans Fiji TV’s decision had to restrict Super rugby to subscribers to its pay per view station Sky Pacific.
Sky Pacific is out of the financial reach of an estimated 95 percent of the country.
