Akwa Ibom Artiste Out with New Annang Song
A new song called Annang Mma, composed by Ms. Perfecta Ekpo, the Akwa Ibom State song writer, performer, dancer, musical arranger and leader of the African musical group, Uko Africana based in New York has composed a new song to commemorate the inauguration of Ati Annag USA.
In a statement by the Akwa Ibom born sensational artist, Ms Perfecta Ekpo, she said that she took part of her lyrics from the Annang Pledge composed by Professor Ezekiel Ette, the Ati Annang USA Chairman and available at the Annang Heritage Preservation website (www.annangheritage.org) .
She reported that she then blended the lyrics with the Annang beat and borrowed also from African Highlife as well as modern pop music. The result is a fast danceable tune that will lift every listener.
The song will be performed for the first time on stage during the Ati Annang USA Inauguration in Baltimore, Maryland on June 30, 2012. The song as well as the group will be introduced to the distinguished guests by the Chairman of the USA Chapter Professor Ezekiel Ette who commissioned the work for the special ocassion. ENDS
