Iran: Another atrocity in Esfahan

Iran: Another atrocity in Esfahan

Criminal IRGC elements splash acid on the face of a 24 year old woman

On Friday night, October 24, the criminal gangs affiliated with the clerical regime attacked a 24-year-old woman and in an anti-human atrocity splashed acid on her face. This crime was committed at 8:10 pm at the 3-way intersection of Malek Shahr of Esfahan by three criminals riding motorcycles who had their faces covered. One of the eyewitnesses identified one of the criminals as a member of the IRGC Basij force in that district.

According to further information received, one of the cases of acid attacks in Tehran took place on Tuesday night (October 21) in the street across from the Tohid Metro where criminals riding motorcycles splashed acid on the face of a middle-aged woman who was inside a vehicle. Over half of this woman’s face was burnt by acid.

Elham Aminzadeh, a Mullah Rouhani deputy, attempted to save the clerical regime from the consequences of these atrocities and tried to justify them. She said: Splashing of acid in Esfahan were personal matters and have nothing to do with “promotion of virtue and prevention of vice”.

On October 23, NCRI Women's Committee Chair Ms. Sarvnaz Chitsaz expressed strong revulsion for these tragic atrocities of splashing acid on the faces of women and girls in different cities and called on all Iranian women to protest against this anti-human crime and to actively participate in the demonstrations on October 25 and to support Iran’s zealous women, especially the victims of this ominous crime.

Protest and strike against acid attacks

Iran: Apprehension of Nasrin Sotoudeh, lawyer of political prisoners and a number of other women

Saturday afternoon, October 25, the criminal agents of mullahs’ Intelligence arrested Ms. Nasrin Sotoudeh in front of regime’s Interior Ministry. She was there protesting against the anti-human crime of splashing acid on women and girls.
Prior, the anti-human mullahs’ regime had revoked Ms. Sotoudeh’s license as a lawyer for three years because of her defense of political prisoners.

Today, following suppressive force’s obstruction of a gathering by protesting women in front of the Interior Ministry, a protest gathering took place in the northern flank of Laleh Park in Dr. Fatemi Street. This gathering was also attacked by the suppressive forces and a number of women were severely battered and a number of them were arrested and transferred to an unknown location.

NCRI Women's Committee Chair Ms. Sarvnaz Chitsaz called on all human rights and women’s rights organizations to condemn the arbitrary arrests of women and to take immediate measures to secure the release of Ms. Sotoudeh and the other women arrestees.

Protest gathering and demonstration by women and youth in Mashhad and Rasht

At noon, Saturday, October 25, a large number of women and youth of Mashhad assembled in the Mellat Park of this city and protested against the heinous crime of mullahs’ regime gangs in splashing acid on the face of Iranian women and girls.

As the number of protestors was constantly increasing, the suppressive security forces cordoned off the park in fear of the expansion of the protests and attacked and battered the crowd. A number of women were arrested and taken to an unknown location.
The suppressive forces have taken control of the park and they prevent the gathering of the huge crowd present in the streets around the park and obstruct them from entering the park.

In the city of Rasht, hundreds of protesting women and youth started to assemble around noon on Saturday and demonstrated toward the Shadi Park. The suppressive intelligence and security forces attacked the crowd and tried to disperse them, but the people continued with their protest march. Sporadic clashes between people and the security force have been reported in front of the Science University.

Iran: Skirmishes between valorous women and suppressive forces in Fatemi Square of Tehran with the slogan of “The one who splashes acid is a regime element – we lack security”

The valorous protesting women and youth in Tehran who had been attacked by the suppressive forces began skirmishes with the regime’s elements in Fatemi Square at 5 pm local time.

The anti-riot forces, as well as regime’s other suppressive forces, are firing tear and pepper gas and shooting in the air in an attempt to disperse the women. Protesters chanted: “The one who splashes acid is a regime element – we lack security”, “Support us, support us, splashing acid is a crime”, and “Security force, shame, shame”.

Similarly, a few hours ago at Azadi Square, courageous women and youth staged a protest gathering against the crimes by criminal gangs associated with the regime. The protestors chanted: “Veiling cannot be forced, shame, shame, where are the eyes of my sister?”

The suppressive security forces surrounded the protesters and arrested a number of them.

The demonstrations and protest moves in Tehran today were held while herds of IRGC and suppressive forces from various organs had been massively stationed in various parts of Tehran, including in Takht-e Tavous Street, Fatemi Square, Fatemi Street and Valiassr Square, in vehicles and on foot and as savage motorcycle riders.
