Life For All Pakistan calls for the
Fasting and Prayer for the Lahore Incident
Life For All Pakistan along with the Masihi Foundation, Catholic Church and the Protestant Churches have jointly called for the day of fasting and prayer for the victims of the unfortunate incident on Sunday in Lahore.
On Sunday morning as the people of Youhanabad, Lahore were going to attend the morning mass at the Catholic Church and the Church of Pakistan, two suicide bombers blew themselves up outside the Churches killing over 16 and injuring over 70.
On Monday there were country wide protests condemning the barbaric attack in the major Christian settlement in Lahore, over 15 people were injured during the protests, in Lahore as the outraged crowd was protesting at the Ferozepur road a car hit the protestors injuring 4, this provoked the crowd to become violent and they threw bricks at the police and damaged the public property.
In Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan the protestors blocked the main highways and joined in solidarity with the victims of the Youhanabad attack.
The Injured admitted in the hospitals are complaining about the non-availability of proper medical attention and medicines. Their relatives are complaining that they are not getting the necessary treatment and have appealed for the provision of medical attention.
The protestors blocked Jati Umra Raiwind residence of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, asking for justice. The PM has announced to probe the Sunday incident.
Observing a 3 day morning all the missionary schools were closed on Monday, Life For All Pakistan called on all the Churches to mark Tuesday as the day of fasting and prayer for the victims of the dual Church attack.
Life For All Pakistan issued a statement:
" At this time we need to humble ourselves, damaging public property, or showing outrage is not the way to record the protest. We are going through the lent season, in the lent we humble ourselves and practice forgiveness and sacrifice. We strongly condemn the Sunday attacks, we stand by the grieving families and we condemn the damaging of the public properties. We need to remain peaceful and display Christ from our lives. we continue our journey through lent, we need to practice our faith. I ask everyone to join us as we pray for the victims of the twin attacks on the Churches in Youhanabad."
