HCIF-PFS Rejects Washington’s Malicious Propaganda

9 August 2025

The Hugo Chavez International Foundation for Peace, Friendship and Solidarity (HCIF-PFS) joins the millions of voices around the world to express concern over a disturbing development in the United States. The Trump administration has revived Washington’s aged Red- Tagging machinery, targeting world leaders that have refused to become cheap pawns to US imperialism. Currently, the legitimate and democratically-elected President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, His Excellency Dr Nicolas Maduro has become again, Trump’s target for destruction.

The US Red-tagging tactics is not new and it is designed to demonise and counter progressive Governments and leaders that fight for their people. This tactics has become one of the spurious and destructive tools employed by the US and its allies to eliminate leaders in foreign countries and to fan the embers of wars, political instability and phobic attacks.

Any leader who stands and work to serve his people without subjecting his country to the whims and caprices of neo-colonialism or US imperialism can be red-tagged. The tactics used in promoting this vicious campaign includes spreading falsely allegations or designed fake news about targeted leaders on public posters, television programs, or social media channels, branding them as either dictators, terrorists or agents of narco kingpins. These widespread fabrications are often followed by threats or spurious actions.

After succeeding in misleading international opinion, what follows would be military intervention, civil wars or ethno phobic attacks, incitements, malice, hatreds, unlawful arrests and detention, or assassination or poisoned by security forces or unidentified persons. This dangerous policy and belief has been in existence for decades and leaders like Patrice Lumumba of the Congo, Sylvanus Olympio of Togo, Samora Machel of Mozambique, Steve Biko of South Africa, Thomas Sankara of Burkina Faso, Muhammad Gadhafi of Libya, Bishop Maurice of Grenada, Salvador Allende of Chili, Martin Luther King and Malcolm X of the US, Saddam Hussein of Iraq, Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, Kwame Nkrumah and Jerry John Rawlings of Ghana, and more-the list is too long-were among victims of this diabolic action. The late Cuban revolutionary icon, Commandant Fidel Castro was one of the few lucky world leaders to have survived more than 600 assassination attempts at his life, by US overt and covert operatives.

Where common sense is allowed to give expression, the act of red-tagging is synonymous to demonising or labelling, which posed serious threats on individual’s life, liberty and security. It is disappointing that the Trump administration in Washington would go to the extent of waking up old grudges, malice and hatreds towards Venezuela. President Trump and his yes-men have decided to carry out the agenda of the deep state by viciously trying to link the President of Venezuela to the activities of narcotic drugs kingpins. Washington has also put a Fifty million dollars ($50, 000, 000. 00.) price tag for information leading to the arrest or death of the Venezuelan leader. These attacks have been making the rounds on the internet since they were launched on Thursday 7th August, 2025, and are intended to taint the illuminating personality of President Nicolas Maduro.

These attacks carry one message, and that is, the deep state’ is back in businesses, this time promoting the usual malicious campaign to another different sinister and wicked level. Waking up a dead campaign of lies, falsehood, insinuation and vilification, Washington is begging for the public to bid its spurious narratives and recycled story about Venezuela and the Venezuelan President Maduro.

The deep state elements aimed to destabilize Venezuela by targeting President Nicolas Maduro, mitigate negative portrayals and mislead the public to sell false narratives. The Hugo Chavez International Foundation for Peace, Friendship and Solidarity vehemently condemns Washington’s brazen attempts to spread misinformation and fabricate narratives with the aim to hang President Maduro on the Altar. These actions are a deliberate efforts to bury the truth under the carpet and cover up the real picture.

This latest hostility was a deliberate attempt also, to divert both domestic and international public attention from the ongoing US backed Israel’s holocaust campaign in Gaza. It is nothing short of foreign interference and transnational repression. Such actions are designed to revoke the Monroe doctrine, a policy advanced by the imperialist that considers Latin America and the Caribbean as the US backyard. This is unacceptable and we strongly reject Washington’s wild claims linking President Maduro to drugs’ cartels as misleading and unfounded, and based on blatant lies and figment of imagination.

The whole world knows where the epicentre of narcotic trade lies. The Trump administration in Washington should look inwards instead of pointing fingers and shifting the blames for its own stock. Washington’s witch hunt against Venezuela and the Venezuelan leader has intensified since President Trump assumed leadership in the US. The Trump administration in Washington is relentless as it is inhumane in its thirst to spill the blood of the Venezuelan people and effect regime change in the Latin American nation.

In another development, we have read in the media that President Trump has secretly ordered the Pentagon to begin using military force against perceived drug cartels in Latin America, reported in the New York Times. This is another attempt to import the Syrian-type of violence in Venezuela. We believe if there is a need for such action, the US must have made its intelligence findings available to the other countries in that region for coordinated efforts. HCIF-PFS condemns all efforts to destabilise Venezuela.

The international community must remain vigilant against Washington’s desperate attempts to bend the truth and manipulate the narrative. The Hugo Chavez International Foundation for Peace, Friendship and Solidarity calls upon the international community to exert pressure to bear upon the Trump administration in Washington to make available tangible information to substantiate its allegations.

We must collectively ensure that accurate information prevails, and that Venezuela is not isolated in the fight against international transnational crime, including terrorism, narcotic trade, arms proliferation and threat against sovereignty in Latin America. We call upon the international community to decisively reject misinformation and uphold the principles of transparency and territorial integrity of members-states of the United Nations.
