Inter-Regional Digital Agriculture Solutions Forum 2025: Harnessing Technology To Feed A Changing World
Bangkok, 27 August 2025 – As climate change intensifies, natural resources deteriorate, and hunger stubbornly persists, the future of food depends on digital innovation, tools and technologies.
From real-time emissions tracking in rice fields to AI-driven food safety tools and mobile platforms that put knowledge directly into farmers’ hands, digital agriculture is emerging as a powerful driver of agrifood systems transformation.
To spotlight these breakthroughs, over 100 global experts from 34 countries – including government leaders, development practitioners, and cutting-edge innovators – will convene in Bangkok for the Inter-Regional Digital Agriculture Solutions Forum (IDASF 2025) from 3 to 5 September 2025.
“Digitalization is no longer optional in agriculture. It is one of the most powerful levers we have to tackle hunger, reduce emissions, and give farmers – especially smallholders – the tools to thrive in a rapidly changing world,” said Alue Dohong, FAO’s Assistant Director General and Regional Representative for Asia and the Pacific.
A small sample of the large number innovations on display at IDASF 2025 include:
- India’s Agristack – a bold national digital ecosystem connecting millions of farmers with technology developers.
- Kenya’s KUZA.One – a mobile-first micro-learning platform helping rural youth and smallholders build viable businesses.
- Viet Nam’s RYNAN Technologies – pioneering real-time monitoring of methane emissions in rice cultivation.
- Japan’s Faeger Inc. – advancing innovative solutions for decarbonized rice production.
- Korea’s GIST scientists – developing a rapid, low-cost digital method for detecting meat freshness, with implications for food safety and reducing waste.
About the Forum
The International Digital Agriculture Solutions Forum 2025 offers a global stage for dialogue, collaboration, and partnership on digital innovation in agrifood systems. Discussions will address not only cutting-edge technologies but also critical issues such as inclusivity, data governance, scaling through investment, and cross-sector collaboration. Participants will share knowledge, experience, and promising innovations, offering unique opportunities for collaboration, partnerships, and cross-learning.
IDASF 2025 is organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and co-sponsored by the Asia Development Bank (ADB), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (CGIAR-IITA) and International Telecommunication Unit (ITU). It is a unique platform to exchange knowledge and debate how digital tools can reshape agrifood systems, making them more sustainable, productive, and inclusive.
