In the north and west from Northland to
Taranaki also for the
central plateau: High cloud
increasing with scattered rain
developing over Northland
from this evening.
For Bay of Plenty and in the east from
Gisborne to Wairarapa:
Fine weather.
From Wanganui to
Wellington, also for Nelson: Cloud
increasing with one
or two showers developing about Wellington
towards
evening.
For Marlborough and Canterbury: Fine and frosty
at first apart
from morning fog patches. A change
spreading north during the
day to southwesterly winds
with a few brief showers.
For the South Island West Coast:
Rain about Fiordland working
further north during the
day then gradually becoming fine from
the south
later.
For Otago and Southland: Cloudy with scattered
morning rain
easing to a few coastal showers this
afternoon and becoming
fine and frosty tonight.
For
the Chatham Islands: Showers, becoming less frequent with
fine periods increasing.
