Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow.
For the North Island: Fine today apart from cloudy periods in the north and west. Tomorrow, cloud increasing in the west from Taranaki to Wellington with a few showers developing from afternoon. Mainly fine elsewhere.
Nelson and Marlborough: Cloudy today about the western ranges of Nelson otherwise fine. Tomorrow, high cloud increasing with rain about the ranges west of Nelson and falls spreading further east after dark.
West of the South Island: Rain in Fiordland with heavy falls from tonight. Elsewhere patchy rain working north. Tomorrow, periods of rain.
Canterbury, Otago and Southland: High
cloud increasing. Rain developing in the western ranges. A
few falls spreading further east about Southland and Otago
later. Gale northwesterlies about Stewart Island, winds
becoming strong and gusty in many other places from
afternoon. Tomorrow, patchy rain spreading north into
Canterbury with gale northwesterlies continuing. Showers and
a cool
southwest change reach Southland after
dark.
Chatham Islands: Mainly fine today. Cloudy at times tomorrow with northwesterlies strengthening.
