Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow

In the north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central plateau: Mostly cloudy. A few light showers, more especially tomorrow.

Bay of Plenty and from Gisborne to Wairarapa: Fine in most places. Brief showers about Wairarapa may spread further north for a time overnight.

Wellington and Marlborough: Mainly fine apart from cloud and a few showers overnight and at first tomorrow.

Nelson: Showers in the western ranges spreading elsewhere briefly overnight otherwise mostly fine.

The South Island west coast: Rain at times then clearing south of the glaciers tomorrow evening.

Canterbury: Brief showers working north today then a clearance overnight. Further showers spreading from the south again later tomorrow.

Otago and Southland: Showers retreating to the south coast today and inland becoming fine. A period of widespread rain tomorrow with snow to the ranges after dark.

Chatham Island: Mostly cloudy. Brief showers early tomorrow.
