The
Situation: A large high is drifting onto New Zealand from
the Tasman Sea. Westerlies affect the far south of the
country.
NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND, COROMANDEL PENINSULA, BAY of
PLENTY/ROTORUA,
WAIKATO, WAITOMO, TAUMARANUI, TAUPO,
TARANAKI, TAIHAPE, WANGANUI,
MANAWATU, WELLINGTON,
NELSON, MARLBOROUGH, BULLER, CANTERBURY and
OTAGO: Fine
frosty weather with light breezes in most places. A few
cloudy areas along the west coast of the South Island.
Also light
showers persisting about eastern
Northland.
GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: Cloud and
remaining coastal
showers clearing this morning
otherwise fine and frosty. Light winds.
FIORDLAND: Cloudy
with showers about the south coast
spreading further
north during the day. West to southwest winds.
SOUTHLAND:
Cloudy skies about Foveaux Strait and Stewart Island
with
light showers at times. Elsewhere fine frosty weather. Light
winds inland and westerlies in the south.
CHATHAM
ISLANDS: Fine breaks increasing with light showers becoming
few and far between as the day goes on. Southwest
winds.
THE OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: A few showers near
eastern coasts from
Coromandel Peninsula to Northland.
Patchy rain along the South
Island west coast south of
the glaciers with cloudy periods
further north. Also
light showers about south Otago and Foveaux
Strait. In
most other places fine frosty weather continuing.
