For the north Island, also for Nelson: Cloudy periods for the remainder of today from Taranaki to Manawatu and the odd shower about eastern Northland otherwise mostly fine. Tomorrow, fine to most places but late showers developing in the west from Taranaki to Manawatu.
Canterbury and Marlborough: Mainly fine today. Cloud and drizzly rain is likely this evening south of Banks Peninsula. Tomorrow, drizzly rain spreading as far north as the Kaikoura coast.
Buller and Westland: Cloudy for the remainder of today. Drizzle patches from Hokitika south. Tomorrow, drizzly rain to most places.
Fiordland, Otago and Southland: Rain about Fiordland spreading elsewhere this evening then easing to showers tomorrow afternoon.
Chatham
Island: A few showers turning to rain tonight.
Becoming
mainly fine tomorrow.
