In the north and west from Auckland to Manawatu: Cloudy at times with a few light showers becoming more frequent tomorrow.
For the remainder of the North Island, also for Nelson: Fine tonight. Mainly fine tomorrow but cloud increasing about Wellington and the western ranges of Nelson.
Canterbury and Marlborough: Cloudy at times with some drizzly rain south of Banks Peninsula. Tomorrow, rain spreading as far north as the Kaikoura coast.
Buller and Westland: Cloudy for the remainder of today. Drizzle patches from Hokitika south. Tomorrow, drizzly rain to most places.
Fiordland, Otago and Southland: Rain about Fiordland spreading elsewhere tonight then easing to showers tomorrow afternoon.
Chatham Island: A few showers turning to rain tonight. Becoming mainly fine tomorrow.
