Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tonight.
For Northland, Auckland and Coromandel Peninsula: A mix of fine and cloudy periods at first. A few showers turning to rain over parts of Northland later.
For remaining North Island areas: Mostly fine weather but north of the central plateau high cloud increasing.
South Island west coast: A few light showers in the south of Fiordland. A mix of cloudy and fine spells elsewhere.
Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury: Cloudy morning and night with areas of fog otherwise fine and frosty.
Otago and Southland: Mostly fine frosty weather inland. Showers about Foveaux Strait spreading to the Otago Peninsula at times.
Chatham Islands: Brief showers.
