From Northland to Manawatu, also for Bay of Plenty and the central plateau: A mix of showers and fine periods.

Gisborne to Wairarapa: Brief showers spreading east until early tomorrow then fine.

Wellington: Outbreaks of rain until early tomorrow then mainly fine.

Nelson and Marlborough: A few showers at first otherwise fine.

South Island west coast: Rain or showers for much of the time.

Canterbury and Otago: Further rain until early tomorrow then becoming mostly fine.

Southland: Patchy rain clearing overnight then fine periods increasing.

Chatham Islands: Dull with further rain.
