Plenty and Taupo, also Gisborne and Hawkes Bay:
Becoming
showery and colder.
Wellington and Wairarapa: Turning
colder and showery. Snow
likely to 500 metres tonight.
That includes the Rimutaka Hill
Road.
Nelson:
Brief clearing and becoming fine but showers persisting
about the eastern ranges.
The South Island west coast: Mostly fine and frosty.
Marlborough and Canterbury: Cold
and showery with sleet to low
levels. Snow lowering to
2-300 metres tonight.
Otago and Southland: Wintry showers.
Snow to 200 metres with sleet
to sea level over
Southland and south Otago.
Chatham Islands: showers.
