Short Forecast issued by Weather Workshop valid to midnight tonight:
The north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central high country: Cloudy periods today with a few showers. More frequent showers spreading north from early tomorrow and colder. Snow lowering about the ranges and likely to affect the Desert Road later.
Bay of Plenty: Rain clearing from the west today. A few showers tomorrow.
In the east from Gisborne to Wairarapa: Rain clearing from Gisborne today and elsewhere becoming mainly fine. Overnight colder showery southerlies spreading north with snow to the ranges.
Wellington. Fine periods today. Turing much colder from late tonight with showers. Snow to the ranges.
Nelson and the South Island west coast: Showers clearing today and mostly fine tomorrow.
Marlborough to Otago also for Southland: Rain and southerlies working north reaching Marlborough by evening. Snow to near sea level about Otago and Southland and 300 metres in Canterbury. About Marlborough snow likely to 500 metres tonight. During tomorrow snow levels rising with showers retreating to the coast. Fine periods increasing inland.
Chatham Islands: Rain easing to showers early tomorrow. Turing much colder with sleet.
