Christchurch Weather Update
With heavy sleet and snow overnight the Christchurch City Council is urging motorists to take extreme care when driving, with ice and surface water affecting roads.
Arterial roads are now clear of snow. Gebbies Pass and Dyers Pass Road are now open. However, the Council is advising motorist to take drive with care.
Crews are out this morning clearing snow from local roads and roads around schools.
Kerbside collection in the city is expected to start today.
Residents are advised to leave their wheelie bins at the kerbside and they will be collected as soon as possible. If bins have not been collected by next Monday, please contact the Council's Customer Call Centre on: 03 941 8999 or 0800 800 169.
