Christchurch Central Recovery Plan Welcomed
ANZ welcomes the Christchurch Central Recovery Plan announced by the Prime Minister today as a key milestone in the rebuild of Christchurch and says the bank is committed to returning to the city centre.
Troy Sutherland, ANZ's Southern General Manager, Commercial and Agri, says: "The recovery plan is a visionary blueprint for the future of Christchurch. We support the work done by the numerous stakeholders, and in particular the Christchurch Central Development Unit, in advancing the rebuild and we look forward to bringing the bank and its staff back to a vibrant Christchurch CBD.
"ANZ and its staff have been part of the Christchurch community for more than 170 years and we will be there into the future. We've stood by Cantabrians with support packages and practical assistance to help them rebuild their homes, businesses and lives. Today's announcement is a big step forward for the city and we support its vision for a new, confident Christchurch."
