Auckland Transport clarifies ‘Just 48 staff earn over $150,000 per annum’
Auckland Transport have responded to criticism from Waitakere Ward Council Candidate Christine Rose, by clarifying that in the year ending 2012 ‘just 48 staff earned over $150,000’ of the quoted 181 staff who earn over $100,000 per year.
Mrs Rose says however, “given that many bus drivers in the same period were paid less than $20 per hour, these high pay rates to managers seem extreme”. She stands by her statement that costs are out of control, adding transparency and accountability from this publicly funded organisation are sorely lacking.
