Following the success of the NZLife site (www.nzlife.co.nz ) , the same team have now launched a new site NZMedical (www.nzmedical.co.nz). This site provides instant quotes, full information and online applications for persons or families wanting Medical Insurance in New Zealand.

More insurance is now being purchased online at sites like NZMedical and NZLife. "Technology and the Internet are becoming an increasing part of the business, it's just a matter of how quickly people pick them up. The savings over time are significant, " says NZMedical team leader, John Hyde.

"The NZMedical site is designed to provide all of the information that is required when people are seeking medical insurance, including full policy wording, benefits, comparisons, case studies, FAQ and easy to use instant quote calculators and simple application forms. Of course after sales service includes how to make claims, contact numbers and forms. A true online one stop shop available 24/7," says Hyde.

The new site is designed to meet the increasing demand from New Zealanders who are signing up health insurance policies at the rate of nearly 100 people a day. In the three months to 31 December 2006, health insurers reported a net increase of 8,400 (0.6%) in the number of New Zealanders covered, taking the total number of policyholders to 1.370 million, according to figures released by the Health Funds Association of NZ (HFANZ). Over the 12 months the increase was 15,500 (1.1%).

In addition more New Zealanders taking out health insurance, they are increasingly favouring major medical over comprehensive cover. Many are switching to the more cost effective plans. The NZMedical site offers major medical plan options.

The Health Minister Pete Hodgson's recently stated that there will never be enough taxpayer money for all the surgery that people want. Health insurers paid out $575 million in claims in 2006. Patients with Medical Insurance are accessing advanced medical technologies, major surgery and treatment when they need it.

The free service at www.nzmedical.co.nz offers not only instant online quotations but also straightforward calculators which enable anyone to easily select the plan and excess to fit their budget, and apply.

"This is the way of the future and should help make significant ongoing savings for users!" says Hyde.
