Tower Insurance Steps Up Claim Support for Quake

Tower Insurance Steps Up Claim Support for Christchurch

In the face of the recent Christchurch earthquake TOWER Insurance, one of the country’s oldest insurance providers, has allocated additional staff to assist customers in the aftermath of the quake.

“Over the weekend an emergency response team was established in Christchurch and Auckland dedicated to assessing and repairing damage. This week all staff throughout the organisation that have had experience in the claims area have been seconded to our call centres and branches. Calls are around 5-6 times the normal volume but we are coping well with the increased traffic”, says Rob Flannagan, TOWER Group Managing Director.

“The severity of damages has meant we have had to prioritise the most severe and dangerous cases to make sure we are providing assistance to those worst affected as quickly as possible. We recognise this is a very stressful time for customers and thank them for their patience where there may be delays”, adds Mr Flannagan.

The organisation has flown in additional insurance assesors from both Auckland and Australia to help with the massive increase in insurance claims in the Christchurch region.

TOWER has published a range of information via press and radio to provide customers with information to assist with both the TOWER and EQC claim process.
