Governor-General saddened by death of King of
Tonga

The Governor-General The Honourable
Anand Satyanand said today he was saddened by the passing of
the King of Tonga.
“I am deeply saddened by the death of
King Taufa'ahau Tupou, and my heartfelt condolences and
sympathy go out to his immediate family and the people of
Tonga.”
The Governor-General and his wife Susan
Satyanand will be leaving for Tonga on Tuesday, 19
September, to attend the King’s funeral.
The flags at
Government House will be half-masted on the day of the
funeral.
