HorizonPoll forecasts 56% of votes cast for MMP, preliminary result 55.76%
Horizon’s final pre-election survey found 56% of the votes cast would be not to change the Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) voting system.
The preliminary referendum result is 55.76% of votes cast support keeping MMP.
In the second part of the referendum, in which voters were asked to choose one of four alternative system for a 2014 run-off vote against MMP, if a majority favoured system change, the preliminary result is 31.89% for First Past the Post (FFP) with 34% not completing the form (informal). Horizon’s final pre-election survey found 24.2% of support for FFP with 29.3% saying they would choose not answer this question when in the ballot box.
