Association welcomes new Police Minister
The Police
Association today congratulated Hon Michael Woodhouse on his
appointment as Minister of Police.
“Michael Woodhouse is a minister on the rise, and the Association looks forward to working with him,” Police Association President Greg O’Connor said.
“Thanks to the strong support and advocacy shown by Mr Woodhouse’s predecessors, Hon Anne Tolley and Hon Judith Collins, the new Minister inherits a New Zealand Police which is highly effective and highly efficient.
“He will, however, find it a challenging portfolio with no sign of let up on budget constraints, which will inevitably impact on the ability to deliver policing services to the public.
“We look forward to working with him to face these challenges, and keep Police moving forward over the next three years,” Mr O’Connor said.
