A free ride on us
To thank customers for their patience during the recent heat restrictions Tranz Metro Wellington is giving all passengers a free trip home on Friday the 21st and Friday the 28th of February 2003.
Between 4pm and 7pm passengers can travel on all lines – Paraparaumu, Hutt Valley, Johnsonville, Melling and Wairarapa free of charge.
Monthly pass holders, who have already paid for their travel, will receive 5% off their March monthly ticket.
“The last couple of months has been extremely frustrating for both staff and customers, said Ross Hayward, National Passenger Manager.
“Now that Tranz Metro can operate its normal timetable during heat restrictions we would like thank all our customers for their patience. We hope that this offer will help make amends for the disruption over the last couple of months” Mr Hayward said.
Over 70% of heat restrictions have now been lifted from Tranz Metro’s Wellington network.
The LTSA approved the process under which heat restrictions can be lifted on the 21st of January 2003. Tranz Rail engineers then moved quickly to lift the majority of Heat 40 restrictions.
Since early February Tranz Metro has been able to operate
its normal timetable with only minimal delays when heat
restrictions are in
operation.
